We had such fun visiting all the temples. Jem and I have a huge appreciation for art and great craftmanship, the detail and workmanship you see in both the exterior and interior is really exquisit. You also have to be very respective when going inside the temples and cover up your legs and shoulders. In the main temple they had a wax figure of a buddha that was so life like it was hard to tell if he was real or not, and most of the time we were really convinced he was real until we moved onto another area and saw a few more and realised they are wax figures 🙂
Everywhere you look there is elaborate work, on the rooves on the columns inside and outside, the doorways and even the windows.
The temples are called a Wat. This temple is Wat Phrasingha Woramahawiharn, its a royal temple and is located in the old city and inside the city walls of Chiangmai. Its the main office of the Sangha monks. The front of the temple was the place merchants would come and exchange their goods.
