Caribbean Chic

Caribbean Chic, this is one of my favourite coastal decor styles.  Its very different to the Mediterranean style.  I love the verdigri aqua and the lovely old green and palm trees.  A lot more wicker is used and natural woods and lovely rich colours in their fabric and floor tiles.  In the Med there is more use of white and blue, I think if you walk the street of the little villages in the Med they are far less colourful and more simplistic.  In Greece you will see most of the buildings are white or very pale subtle colours.  If you walk the streets of the villages in the Caribbean the buildings are painted really bright fun colours, the fabrics used by the locals are in vibrant and crisp colours.

It really does remind me of what we experienced while living in Mozambique, they too have vibrant fabrics and floor tiles.  When we visited the island of Il de Mozambique we saw the most amazing floor and wall tiles and the coastal decor is very similar to the Caribbean style.  It’s very close to what I call Plantation Style.
