My passion for creativity started by studying Fine Arts.  A position as an Account Executive in advertising followed and then the travelling bug bit.  A few years, travelling and working in the UK and Europe sparked a great interest in and love for interior design.  When I returned to South Africa, I studied Interior design and worked briefly before the opportunity arose to open my own shop and interior business, called The Hilton Interiors.  This was a fantastic success and lasted 8 years before the need to move and travel hit again.  Cape Town attracted me next, where I worked for two and a half years.  Because of my experience lecturing and giving talks, and having set up my own shop, Biggie Best offered me a position training staff and launching their new shop in Hyde Park.  This brought me to Johannesburg.  Another training opportunity was offered to me by Leisure Lounge.  Throughout this time my private decorating never stopped.

In 2008 I made two TV shows with the Home Channel, Designer Secrets and Décor 101, and am presently working on another one.  I have just completed two years as the Regional Head of Gauteng for The Institute of Interior Design Professions.

My 18 years in the Interior design industry, has given me a wonderful experience working all over South Africa and in many other countries.  My work has included ships, restaurants, lodges, boutique hotels, corporate offices and beautiful homes all over the world.  In addition to my designing I arrange design tours overseas for people in the trade.  To date we have been to Maison d’objet in Paris, Design Week in London, including special tours of selected fabric house and wallpaper manufacturers.  I am currently working on other trips to Paris, one to New York and one to Russia.

My work has given me such wonderful experiences and opportunities, and I look forward to what the future brings with excitement.

Another chapter in my life – I am very blessed to have moved back to the Kwa-Zulu Natal Midlands.  Excited to be embracing a more country style of interior decorating.  Over the years I have done many different styles of decorating, my preference does lean towards shabby chic or provence country chic.  I tend to spend alot of my time meandering between Hilton and Mooi River, I have a few favourite junk shops and  antique shops that are still around and have always inspired me.  The beautiful country side is also a huge inspiration, and spending time with family and very special friends in the area makes all the difference.

I have recently moved to Durban on the coast of Kwa-zulu Natal.  New exciting times ahead.  I have moved into a gorgeous townhouse with stunning views close to the river and sea.  I have spent a bit of time decorating my new space and getting my creative juices going again.
